Artist

Late Shri Kavi Ghanshyam Gadhavi

Founder & CEO

Late Shri Kavi Ghanshyam Gadhavi was the first artist of Backstage Alive, and a source of deep pride for us. Today, when our artists perform on the world’s biggest stages, we believe he is listening from the largest stage of all — beyond this world, where souls continue their journey.

from the largest stage of all — beyond this world, where souls continue their journey.

He began his artistic path from traditional folk dayras and grew into a respected folk poet and lyricist whose words carried the soul of Gujarat, the pain and pride of Gir, and the truth of folk life. His writing connected people, places, and generations — making folk not just something to hear, but something to feel.

Beyond music and poetry, he also made a lasting contribution to theatre. He wrote the folk-based play Kadak Badshahi and performed a role in it; the production was produced by Mallika Sarabhai. He also authored another notable folk play, Kaikeyi, further expanding his impact as a storyteller across cultural forms.

Though he left us during the COVID period, his words, thoughts, and artistic spirit continue to guide our journey.
For Backstage Alive, he is not just a former artist — he is where our story began.
